Kinder Bueno Brownies

If you love Kinder chocolate you’re going to loose your mind for these Kinder Bueno Brownies. A dense and gooey chocolate brownie swirled with white chocolate hazelnut spread and studded with Kinder Buenos.

These Kinder Bueno Brownies NEED to be on your to bake list this weekend. Trust me, they’re bonkers awesome.

On a random Instagram scroll a few weeks ago a sponsored post popped up from Black Milk, a Manchester based dessert cafe. The post featured something that made me stop dead mid scroll! You know that’s gotta be some important shizz. It was a jar of Hazelnut Cream, you know the stuff that’s in the middle of a Bueno bar, that!! I had to have it. I instantly ordered 2 jars of the heavenly sounding spread and started fantasising about all the delicious treats I could bake up, hence these brownies!

Unfortunately, Black Milk is a small operation so their stocks fluctuate quite a lot. I do recommend trying to nab yourself a jar if you hit lucky but you can get a similar spread from Morrisons. Or if you’re extra lucky you could find a jar of White Chocolate Nutella in the wild, but I’m pretty sure that only exists in Italy at the moment.

I do get comments and messages sometimes about brownie or blondie failures or mishaps (some nice, some can be very mean. Remember to be kind guys.) I’ve included a small troubleshooting list below to help you guys out. Brownies are super easy to make but can sometimes refuse to play the game. The biggest tip I can offer is get to know your oven. Invest in an oven thermometer and identify hot spots. It really will transform your baking.

Brownie Troubleshooting

  • Use the correct size tin. I always recommend using a 9×9″ square tin for the thickest, fudgiest brownies. Using the wrong sized tin will alter the size and baking time of the brownie.
  • Use a high quality plain chocolate, even if you prefer milk. Milk chocolate is too sweet and will alter the flavour of the brownie. I always go for a 70% cocoa solid, this gives you the richest flavour.
  • All ovens are different! I can’t stress this one enough. I get so many messages about brownies not being ready after the recommended baking time is up. 30 minutes is usually the optimal time but sometimes they’ll need a little bit more or less. Just keep a close eye on them after 25 minutes and remove from the oven when the edges are set and there is a slight wobble in the centre.
  • Bring your ingredients to room temperature before you begin.
  • Do not, and this is a biggie, over mix your brownies once you add the flour. Over mixing will overwork the gluten and will result in cakey brownies. Unless you prefer cakey brownies, then have at it. Each to their own 😉

Kinder Brownies

Description

If you love Kinder chocolate you’re going to loose your mind for these Kinder Bueno Brownies. A dense and gooey chocolate brownie swirled with white chocolate hazelnut spread and studded with Kinder Buenos.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 375g unsalted butter
  • 375g plain chocolate
  • 6 large, free range eggs
  • 350g caster sugar
  • 225g plain flour
  • White chocolate hazelnut spread (I used Black Milk)
  • Kinder Buenos
  • Kinder Chocolate Bars

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C and line a 9″x9″ square tin with baking parchment.
  2. In a large heavy bottomed saucepan melt the butter and chocolate together over a low heat. Allow to cool slightly. In the bowl of an electric mixer whisk the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. With the mixer on low pour the melted chocolate into the egg mixture in a slow steady stream, mix until combined. Add in the flour and stir until the flour just about disappears, take care not to over mix at this point.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out. Spoon blobs of the white chocolate hazelnut spread over the brownie batter and marble with a knife and stud with pieces of Kinder Chocolate. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until there is just a slight jiggle in the centre of the pan. While still warm push segments of Kinder Bueno into the top of the brownie.
  4. Leave to cool completely, preferably overnight in the fridge. Cut into squares and enjoy.

Notes

I always put the Kinder Bueno pieces into the brownie after they’re baked as they have the tendency to catch in the oven.

You can buy white chocolate hazelnut spread online. Morrisons do a good version but I really do rate the Black Milk spread. It’s truly delicious.
