If you’re here looking for this months Martha Stewart’s Cupcake Club post I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed.

Since this weeks SMS and MSC are both very similar I’m going to combine the two on Sunday. Plus, I’m too cheap to pay £8 for two tins of canned pumpkin from my local food hall 😉

    where do you buy your canned pumpkin? At this time of year I highly recommend buying a whole pumpkin, boil and blend… you can then batch freeze and use for all canned pumpkin recipes – it's an awful lot cheaper (and more 'local food' friendly!)

    I get them from the Fenwicks Food Hall. I made brownies using fresh pumpkin once but they were horrible. Thought I'd give canned a try and taste the difference :)Katie xox

    Hi Katie – I'm new to your blog, but you should give fresh pumpkin a second chance. Check out my detailed comment in your pumpkin cookie post. I forgot to mention that you should be using the small "sweet culinary" pumpkins not the big carving pumpkins.
